Voice policy in lync server 2013.

We can enable and set voice policy to individual users, sites, global.

» A set of policy available to enable enterprise voice to users.

» A set of public switched telephone network need to define the call function to the users.

Deployment steps:

lync voice policy

» first determine the global policy, the global policy is automatically assigned to who are not assigned in site and user policy. The global policy automatically installed in product.

» make list down what type user policy you need
» make sure what type of site policy you need
» make sure what type of pstn usage for each policy.

Voice policy scopes :

User :
In this policy only applies to the particular user in a particular site. This policy not apply to other users in same site. Example, You can disable the call function one user in site.

Site :
If you not assigned any user policy, then you can deploy the site policy. If you deploye the site policy, the entire users in that particular site under the policy.

Global :

This policy comes with the product. It applicable to all user in that server. You can customize the global policy. You can disable the global policy also and you can rename it. You can delete this policy. If you delete the global policy then all user assigned to custom user and site policy.

Features in Voice Policy :

1. Call forward is the policy is automatically forward the call to specific client or other phone. It is set in default.

2. Delegation policy is used to other users send or receive calls by yourself. It also enabled in default.

3. Call park policy is disabled in default. It used to park the call and pick up from different client or mobile.

4. Simultaneous ring policy is used to ring multiple client or mobile when user call.

5. Team call enable you can attend any other person call when the person in your team.

6. Pstn policy enable you to call any number in the world. It enables by default.

In this article we going to see How To enable mobility policy to certain users. There by the use can access the Lync in their mobile.
The user can able to call via work, voip, video call. The user can set their work number there by the can prevent their personal numbers from other users. The user can use cellular network or WiFi.
Configure the voip make user can able to get voice and video call.

Lync admin only get the rights to set mobility policy to the users.
Admin can set this policy to site , global and user. There by the policy applying to the particular users.

Prerequisites :

To get this feature you fulfil some prerequisites.

1.User must be enable in lync ,2013 server.
2. User Mus enable for enterprise voice.
3. User must assigned mobility policy ,in that optiom must set enable mobility.
4. User must enable enterprise voice policy that have enable simultaneous ringing option.
5. Enable output opinions in mobility policy.

Global mobility policy :

1. Login the server which has the lync 2013 server.
2. Start the lync management shell.
Start » all programs » lync server 2013 » management shell.
3. Run this command to turnoff global site mobility policy.

Set-CsMobilityPolicy -EnableMobility $False -EnableOutsideVoice $False

Site mobility policy :

1. Login the particular server.
2. Go to lync management shell.
2. Now type the command. This command used to create new site policy, that disable Audi video and enable WiFi for video and audio.

New-CsMobilityPolicy -Identity site: -EnableIPAudioVideo $False -RequireWiFiForIPAudio $True -RequireWiFiForIPVideo $True

3. User policy .

To set particular user only use the mobility policy, then you can run the bellow command . Just modify then run it whatever you want.

New-CsMobilityPolicy -Identity -EnableMobility$False -EnableOutsideVoice $FalseGrant-CsMobilityPolicy -Identity -PolicyName

Lync 2013 troubleshooting :

In this article we going to see How To troubleshoot the lync 2013 various issues. If any errors happen it affect you business communication.

Collect some basic Details :
When you going to Lync 2013 troubleshooting you need collect some basic Details about the environment. Collect some details about your network ,firewalls, routers, switches. Make sure you deployed a edge server or not. Collect details about certificate. Make sure the sip address. Some mail and sip address may be different. So concerned in sip address.

Test the Lync Client Connectivity :
In this step press and hold the control button and click lync icon in the bottom bar. Then new window will open, here you will see configure information. Here you can check the details.

If you find ews error, then it may cause of exchange and lync error. There is a error between lynch and exchange. You can solve this using unified communications tool.
If you find any connection problem then you need to do manual configuration.

Verify configuration mode
Tools » options » advanced on lync client.

Verify the srv record for automatic client login. .type the following
»Nslookup
»set type=srv
»._sipinternaltls._tcp.anything.com

If nslookup fails, the service locator record (srv) missing in your dns or there is any blockage in connection. Another connection point must be rechargeable in your lync server fully qualified domain name.
Start new nslookup session and type fq.domain.com can be reached.

Lync 2013 Client login :
Turn on lync client automatic login lync client in self,

Click the gear symbol» tools» option» General lync client you can see events and login error.

Reset the lync client :

If there is any problem during login ,then it must be authentication problems. Then this error may caused the certificate out date.

Cached credentials and certification problems may solve by clearing the history.
To solve this problem try to login new user in this lync client the new user is able to sign in ,then we do some work to solve this issue for other users.

1. Verify the naming of sip domain.
2. Clear the cache in credentials history, from the credential lockers.
Go to control panel » all control panel » credentials manager or type cred in start menu
3. Clear user registry.
*.Go to the registry and remove the user specific registry keys
*.Remove the problem user principle name folder from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shared\UcClient
*.Remove the problem user principle name folder from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Communicator\ConfAddin\
*.Remove the user folder from \Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Communicator
*.Run ipconfig /flushdns && ipconfig/registerdns on the client
*.On windows XP, Open Windows Explorer and go to C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\ folder and Delete the RSA key subfolder.

Fixing lync 2013:
1. The lync client will able to resolve the full qualified domain name of front end server.
2. After finding the fqdn then client looking for the auto configuration .
3. The client check the domain ,any front end server with the name of using srv record.
4. If the server find the domain, The client looking for the certificate.
5. The server and client certificate need trustworthy.
6. If all ok, then authentication will happen with ntlm or Kerberos.
